Voices of Courage

Names and identifying details changed to protect privacy.

I arrived with nothing but the clothes on my back. Within hours I had a safe room, a warm meal, and someone who truly listened. The staff gave me and my children our lives back.

I didn't think I was eligible for help — I thought it had to be more violent. The advocate helped me see what was happening was abuse, and that I deserved support.

Having my advocate in court made all the difference. I finally felt heard. I got my safety order and we are now settled in our own home — something I never thought possible.
