Survivor Stories
Names and identifying details have been changed to protect privacy.
I arrived with nothing but the clothes on my back. Within hours I had a safe room, a hot meal, and someone who actually listened. The staff here gave me and my children our lives back.
I didn't think I was eligible for help — I thought it had to be worse, more violent. The advocate helped me see that what was happening to me was abuse, and that I deserved support.
The court accompaniment service was incredible. I was terrified of the process but having my advocate beside me made all the difference. I got my safety order and we're now in our own home.
